Made in France, the Saphir Médaille d’Or All-Natural Wax Softener & Cleaner is a 100% plant-based, environmentally friendly solution designed to restore the ideal texture of dried or hardened polishes such as Mirror Gloss, Pâte de Luxe, Traveller’s Pâte de Luxe, and Crème 1925. By softening the wax, it improves absorption into the leather and makes application smoother, allowing you to adapt the texture to your personal polishing technique.
Enriched with a touch of avocado oil, this gasless spray can also be used to clean the bristles of pig hair, horsehair, and other polishing brushes. It is suitable for use with all polish formulas based on natural solvents such as turpentine or white spirit.
Application:
For waxes and creams: Shake well, then spray directly into the polish tin or onto your application cloth before use.
For brushes: Spray directly onto the bristles, then rub the brush on a cotton cloth, repeating until the cloth shows minimal soiling.

Regular cleaning of leather shoes is essential to their long-term maintenance by preventing the buildup of waxes, resins, and dirt that can otherwise clog leather pores and cause cracking. Especially for those transitioning to Saphir Shoe Polish from ordinary polishes, we recommend thoroughly cleaning your shoes with Saphir Reno'Mat to remove any resins, wax buildup or petroleum products left by prior polishes. This ensures that the leather pores are open and able to fully absorb Saphir Medaille d'Or's high concentration of waxes and nourishing agents.
For regular cleaning of dirt buildup, we recommend the Saphir Leather Cleaning Soap. The gentle formulation is not overly aggressive and contains leather nourishing agents to help prevent the leather from drying. For more thorough cleaning, the Saphir Reno'Mat will remove any accumulated waxes or resins.
