Made in France, Saphir Médaille d’Or Réno’Mat is a powerful deep-cleaning solution formulated to remove dirt, wax buildup, and resin or silicone-based deposits from smooth leather. By thoroughly opening the pores of the leather, it prepares the surface for creams, polishes, and conditioners, ensuring that nourishing agents penetrate deeply to maintain suppleness and prevent cracking.
Particularly recommended for the care of smooth leather, Réno’Mat offers a superior alternative to simply covering dirt with recoloring products. It is also effective on oiled leather, nubuck, and white rubber soles, making it suitable for cleaning sneakers in addition to fine leather shoes.
Application: Brush the item to remove dust. Shake the bottle, then apply with a clean cotton cloth, working in small sections and rubbing gently. Use a fresh, clean area of cloth each time to avoid reapplying dirt. Leave to dry for 15 minutes before conditioning. Always test on a discreet area first.

Regular cleaning of leather shoes is essential to their long-term maintenance by preventing the buildup of waxes, resins, and dirt that can otherwise clog leather pores and cause cracking. Especially for those transitioning to Saphir Shoe Polish from ordinary polishes, we recommend thoroughly cleaning your shoes with Saphir Reno'Mat to remove any resins, wax buildup or petroleum products left by prior polishes. This ensures that the leather pores are open and able to fully absorb Saphir Medaille d'Or's high concentration of waxes and nourishing agents.
For regular cleaning of dirt buildup, we recommend the Saphir Leather Cleaning Soap. The gentle formulation is not overly aggressive and contains leather nourishing agents to help prevent the leather from drying. For more thorough cleaning, the Saphir Reno'Mat will remove any accumulated waxes or resins.
