How to Refill Your Jet Flame Lighter
What You’ll Need:
-
S.T. Dupont Black Butane Gas (specifically formulated for jet flame models)
-
A clean, stable surface
Steps:
-
Turn the lighter upside down and locate the refill valve.
-
Use a firm grip and insert the nozzle of the black gas refill into the valve.
-
Press and hold for about 5 seconds to fill the chamber.
-
Allow the lighter to rest for a minute or two to stabilize before use.
Note: The black gas is engineered for jet flame lighters and prevents carbon buildup that can clog the system.
How to Ignite the Jet Flame
Jet flame models do not require a flint or strike wheel.
Instead, they operate with a piezo-electric ignition system.
-
Simply press the ignition button to engage the flame.
-
A strong, concentrated jet flame will activate instantly.
-
If the lighter doesn’t ignite on the first click, give it a second or third try—this is normal, especially right after refilling.
Ongoing Maintenance and Care
-
Use only S.T. Dupont black gas to maintain peak performance. Other fuels may clog the nozzle or void your warranty.
-
Store the lighter upright and avoid extreme temperatures.
-
If the flame weakens, check the refill level and refill as needed.
-
No flint replacement is required—these models are designed for simplified upkeep.
Troubleshooting Tips
-
Lighter doesn’t ignite? Try clicking it a few more times after refilling.
-
Weak or sputtering flame? Ensure you’re using black gas and that the nozzle is clear of debris.
-
No sound or response? The piezo system may be worn and require professional servicing.
